Move over, beer! There’s a new festival in town.
For those of you who aren’t a big fan of beer (or are gluten-free), the Toronto Cider Festival is coming to Yonge-Dundas Square on September 26th and we highly recommend you take advantage of it. It’s the perfect way to cap off the summer, and since we’ve been having a hot September it will be extra refreshing.
Starting at noon, the best hard cider vendors from across Canada will be coming to the city to show off their stuff. This year's lineup will include Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, Waupoos, Pommies Cider Co, and Revel Cider Co - just to name a few. As with any festival, if you get hungry there will be an army of food trucks coming to the rescue, as well as live music to entertain you and your friends. There will also be a cocktail competition, in case you think you can make the best cider-based cocktail there ever was, and other games and contests to keep the party going. The festival is split into two sessions - one in the afternoon and one in the evening, so depending on what time of day you feel like drinking your cider, purchase accordingly. Your ticket also includes four tokens for samples (which are 4oz each!) AND a sample mug you get to take home. Sounds good to us!
