We look forward to a new year of achievements as we continue to build Aura.

Our sales office will be open on January 3rd 2012.

The Most Important Floor at Aura

Construction workers at Aura have been working diligently these last several weeks of summer in preparation to pour the 5th floor. Usually, it takes a couple of weeks of installation and pouring of concrete for a large retail podium floor plate.  In Aura's case it is taking a bit more time and here's why....

The 5th floor at Aura is the most important structural floor of the entire building since it transfers the loads from the 71 storeys of residential floors above through to the foundations.

Seen above, significant quantities of rebar (rods or bars used for reinforcement in concrete pouring) and post-tensioned tendons are required for this 2500 mm thick transfer slab (the 5th floor) along with detailed coordination and installation between several trade workers.  This enormous task has taken the better part of the summer months to complete.

This 5th floor transfer slab is being poured in sections and the first two sections were completed at the end of August. The remaining section is being prepared and the entire 5th floor slab will be completed within a few weeks, after which you’ll see Aura continue to grow quickly during the fall.

Photos were taken from this afternoon to give you the latest updates . Stay tuned for more exciting development insights.

75 Storey Aura is Part of Bold New Vision

Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam's newly announced
plans to change Yonge St. are dramatic and bold.

Imagine Yonge and Gerrard St. with only two car
lanes of traffic and the side walks widen to welcome
cafes, pedestrians and greenery.

Aura is on track in doing its part to gentrify this
downtown strip that has so much potential to
be 'the' destination place for locals and touring
visitors.

2010 Record Year for New Condo Sales

Did you know that in the last quarter of 2010, there were a total of 6,280 new condominiums sold in the Toronto CMA making the year's total a record high since 2007. What will 2011 bring?

Urbanation, the leading source of information and analysis on the Toronto condo market, recently released its fourth quarter market review for 2010.

For the second consecutive year, the Toronto new condominiums market finished quite strong. With a flurry of sales activity, the fourth quarter resulted in 6,280 new condominums units sold, which is a 2,474 more units then the 2010 third quarter.

“The Q4-2010 new unit sales were much higher than expected, spurred by tremendous results at a number of new project openings in the City of Toronto. In the end, 2010’s total annual new and resale condominium sales of 37,041 units were just three per cent shy of the historic 2007 record of 38,306 units sold.”Said Urbanation Executive Vice President and Editor Ben Myers.
